Police investigate armed robbery - South Coast

Police are appealing for witnesses following the armed robbery of a club on the state's south coast.

Shortly after 10.30pm yesterday (Thursday 25 July 2019), two men entered a registered club on Jacobs Street, Sussex Inlet, south of Nowra.

The men - one armed with a firearm and sledge hammer, the second with a machete and sledge hammer - threatened six staff members and locked them in a room.

The men stole a sum of cash before fleeing the premises.

Officers from South Coast Police District attended and established a crime scene.

As inquiries continue, investigators would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The first man is described as having a large build and was wearing dark clothing with his head and face covered at the time of the offence.

The second man is described as having a smaller build and was also wearing dark clothing, with a red bandana covering his face.

No staff members were physically injured during the incident.
