Police investigate assault at Traralgon

Traralgon Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Traralgon on the weekend, Victoria Police say.

A 24-year-old man was walking north along Franklin Street in Traralgon between 12.30am and 1.00am on 16 September.

He was approached from behind by a number of unknown people. He was punched to the face causing him to fall to the ground where he was punched multiple times.

He suffered a fractured nose and bruising to his right eye.

The offenders stole cash and a gift card from the man's wallet before fleeing the scene.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, in particular, those people who may have dash cams in their vehicle and were driving on Franklin Street, Traralgon, between Grey Street and Davidson Street, around the time of the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
