Police Investigate Attempted Armed Robbery At Woodridge

Police have charged a man following the attempted armed robbery of a Woodridge convenience-store last night.

It will be alleged that around 10pm, a man entered the business - on the corner of Compton Road and Kingston Road – presented a knife and demanded money from the register.

The two 24-year-old male employees immediately retreated to a back room, activated the duress alarm, and placed the store into lockdown.

Police attended the scene, where it is alleged the man brandished a knife and threatened officers, before surrendering.

An 18-year-old Woodridge man has now been charged with three counts of serious assault police officer and one count of attempted robbery.

He is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today (June 16).
