Police investigate attempted armed robbery at Currimundi

A teenage boy has been charged after allegedly attempting to rob a grocery store at Currimundi yesterday evening.

Detectives will allege the boy entered the Buderim Street business on February 28 around 7pm armed with a box cutter and demanded the male employee hand over cigarettes and money.

The employee refused to comply and the boys was chased from the store.

Police attended and a 16-year-old Sippy Downs boy was arrested a short time later near the scene.

He was charged with one count of attempted armed robbery and one count of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence and refused police bail.
