Police investigate attempted armed robbery at Carnegie

Armed Crime Squad detectives are after public assistance following a failed attempted armed robbery at a bank in Carnegie on Tuesday.

Investigators have been told a man entered the bank on Koornang Road about 3.30pm on 17 December.

He approached the teller and produced a handgun from the front of his pants and pointed it at the teller.

The man placed a bag on the counter and demanded that the teller fill it with cash.

A manager told the offender that there was no cash accessible.

The man then left the building and was last seen heading through a supermarket car park towards Kokaribb Road.

The offender is approximately165cm tall with medium build and beard.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a black suit, dark tie, white shirt, sunglasses and a dark coloured hat.

Detectives wish to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have CCTV or dash cam footage.
