Police investigate attempted armed robbery at Clontarf

Police are investigating an early morning attempted armed robbery at a Clontarf convenience store.

At 4:30am a man walked into the store and produced a red coloured bag and a knife threatening a 32-year-old male staff member.

The man demanded cash however fled empty handed.

The man is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid-20s with a proportionate build, red hair and facial hair.

He was last seen wearing a maroon hoodie with a black singlet over the top, a black baseball cap and grey trackpants.

Police have released footage of a man who may be able to assistance with investigations.

No one was physically injured in the incident.
