Police investigate attempted carjacking in Donvale

Manningham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding an attempted aggravated carjacking in Donvale on Sunday, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told a woman was sitting in her white Mercedes Benz wagon while parked at the Mullum Mullum Reserve when she was approached by a man about 1pm.

The man, carrying a crowbar, made demands for the victim to exit her vehicle.

The woman did not leave her vehicle and the man eventually fled on foot towards the intersection of Springvale and Reynolds roads.

The man is described as tanned and about 175cm tall with brown eyes and short dark hair.

He was wearing a dark beanie, black long sleeved top, light coloured pants and a cloth covering his mouth.

Investigators have released a facial composite image of man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.

It is understood a new model dark coloured dual cab utility was seen in the area at the time.

Police are urging anyone who may recognise the man or the vehicle described to come forward.

Anyone with any information regarding the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
