Police investigate attempted theft of motor vehicle in Essendon Fields

Police are investigating an attempted theft of motor vehicle in Essendon Fields last month.

Investigators believe three unknown offenders entered Wirraway Road in a stolen white Nissan Navara at about 4pm on 12 July.

The group exited the car before approaching a Black and Orange KTM Roadster motorcycle parked near Hangar 7.

Two males attempted to ignite the engine with tools while a female watched on.

A nearby passer-by observed the incident and all three offenders fled before driving away in the stolen car.

Police have released an image of a female who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.

The female is described as being approximately 165cm tall, with a slim build and dark brown hair.

She was wearing a black Adidas jumper with yellow stripes, black tracksuit pants, and was carrying a black jacket.

Anyone who recognises the woman or with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppervic.com.au.
