Police investigate brawl in Bentleigh

Police are appealing for public assistance following a brawl and assault outside a supermarket in Bentleigh last week, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told four youths attended a supermarket on Vickery Street about 4pm on Wednesday 5 December.

An altercation occurred between the youths and a staff member over a payment when one of the offenders assaulted the male employee.

A man who witnessed the assault stepped in to assist the victim when the offenders turned on him and attacked him, using trolleys and shopping baskets.

The offenders, two females and two males, all aged in their teens and Caucasian in appearance ran from the scene.

The male employee, aged 20, received minor injuries.

The other male victim left the scene prior to police arrival and investigators are hoping to speak to this man.

Police are also keen to speak to any witnesses who were at the supermarket at the time of the assaults.
