Police investigate Brunswick bakery burglaries

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following two burglaries committed on a bakery in a Brunswick shopping centre earlier this month, Victoria Police say.

The first burglary took place at the Sydney Road bakery at 10.20pm on Saturday 6 August.

On this occasion the burglar jumped over a counter and entered the closed bakery, forcing open a locked cupboard and stealing an amount of cash before walking from the shopping centre.

The second burglary occurred on Saturday 13 August at 9.30pm.

On this occasion the burglar, accompanied by a second man, jumped over the bakery counter and stole a small safe.

His accomplice kept a look out while the burglary took place.

Security footage shows the burglars leaving the shopping centre with one of the men carrying the safe.

Detectives have released images and CCTV footage in the hope that someone may be able to assist in identifying those responsible.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
