Police investigate Brunswick East assault

A man has been arrested following an alleged assault of a pedestrian at a Brunswick East tram stop on Monday, Victoria Police say.

It is believed a physical altercation broke out between a tram commuter and the driver of a silver Hyundai van about 2.15pm on 27 November at tram stop 127, located at Holmes and Albion streets.

The pedestrian, a 55-year-old Brunswick man, sustained facial injuries and was taken to hospital.

It is alleged the driver then took off.

Police later arrested a 33-year-old South Morang man, who has been released pending summons.
