Police Investigate Brunswick West Collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a collision in Brunswick West this morning.

It is understood three cars collided in the intersection of Melville Road and Albion Street just after 10am.

One of the drivers, a 49-year-old woman, was trapped inside the car for a short time and taken to hospital with life-threatening-injuries.

Another driver, a 31-year-old Laverton man, ran from the scene and was apprehended by members of the public nearby.

He was transported to hospital under police guard.

The other driver was uninjured.

The circumstance surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and the investigation remains ongoing.
