Malvern police are investigating a theft which occurred in Chadstone earlier this month.
Investigators believe a man stole a box of designer shoes worth a significant amount from a Dandenong Road shopping centre about 5.35pm on 15 June before fleeing the scene.
The unknown male offender is perceived to be Caucasian with dark hair.
He was wearing beige pants, a blue jumper with "POLO" written on it in red letters and a white cap.
Police have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
