Police investigate Chelsea Heights stabbing

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a stabbing which occurred in Chelsea Heights this morning.

Emergency services were called to the car park of a licensed premises on Springvale Road about 3.35am.

On arrival they located a man, believed to be in his 40s, with a stab wound to his head.

Investigators have been told that the man was involved in a verbal argument with two other men and two women.

The argument escalated and the man was stabbed.

He has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries and a crime scene has been established.

At this stage there have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

Police believe the parties are known to each other.
