Police investigate Clyde North collision

Officers from the Public Order Response Team responded to reports of a two-car collision in Clyde North on Friday night.

Investigators were told a white Mitsubishi ute was travelling on Berwick-Cranbourne Road when it collided with a red Subaru sedan near the intersection of Thompsons Road just before 4.30pm.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 44-year-old Balaclava man, returned an alleged positive breath test of .260.

His license was immediately suspended for 12 months and he is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and other traffic related offences.

The 24-year-old woman driving the Subaru was issued with two penalty notices after it was found she was a learner driver who was unaccompanied at the time.

She was also issued with a penalty notice for failing to produce her learner permit.
