Police are appealing for public assistance after a distinctive coffee machine was stolen from a shopping centre in Glen Waverley last month.

Investigators have been told a man waited at the service area of the Springvale Road centre until staff left before entering via the service door just before midnight on 21 July.

He attended at a café on the second floor and took an Astoria Dual espresso coffee machine valued at $11, 000.

The man left via a door in the underground car park.

Detectives have released images of the stolen coffee machine and a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is described to be Caucasian, 185-190cm tall, aged 35-45-years-old with black/grey hair and wearing a blue jumper, blue shorts and thongs.
