Police investigate Corio non-fatal shooting

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are investigating after an incident in Corio overnight where a man was shot.

Emergency services were called to Browallia Drive following reports a man had been assaulted and sustained a gunshot wound to the lower body about 2.10am on Monday, 17 July.

A 24-year-old Corio man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is believed the man sustained the injuries elsewhere, before returning home to seek assistance.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has dashcam/CCTV footage or any information.
