Police are investigating a deliberately lit fire at Aussie Waste Management in Mornington early this morning which destroyed four garbage trucks with an estimated value of around $500,000, Tasmania Police say.
The trucks were inside a secure compound and may have been burning for a few hours prior to the fire being discovered around 4:45am.
A fire scene examination conducted by the Tasmania Fire Service determined the cause of the fire was deliberately lit.
Anyone with information in relation to the fire is asked to contact Tasmania Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
