Police investigate explosion in Heidelberg Heights

Banyule Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following an explosion in Heidelberg Heights over the weekend.

Police have been told a loud bang was heard outside a house on Waterdale Road about 9.50pm on Sunday 19 July.

A resident went outside to investigate and put a small fire out near a tree caused by what is believed to be a home-made explosive device.

No one was injured.

Detectives are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage that may have been driving in the area.
