Police Investigate Fatal Collision In Niddrie

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision that claimed the life of a pedestrian in Niddrie this morning

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Keilor Road and Hoffmans Road after reports a car struck a pedestrian on the footpath before crashing inside a medical centre about 9.30am.

A woman inside the building was also struck and airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The male pedestrian died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

The driver, a 63-year-old Maribyrnong man, was taken to hospital and has since been interviewed.

He has been released pending further enquiries.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision remain ongoing.
