Police investigate fatal crash in state's north-west

Police are investigating a head-on crash between a car and a truck in the state's north-west that's left a driver suffering fatal injuries.

About 12.30am (Thursday 24 October 2019), a sedan travelling west on the Barrier Highway, about 100km from Broken Hill, collided head-on with an eastbound B-double.

The driver of the sedan, who is yet to be identified, suffered fatal injuries.

The driver of the truck suffered head injuries and was taken to Broken Hill Base Hospital for treatment and mandatory testing.

Inquiries continue by officers from Barrier Police District and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
