Police investigate fatal hit and run - Lidcombe

A cyclist has died after being hit by a car at Lidcombe.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Harry Avenue and Maud Street about 4.45pm today (Tuesday 7 May 2019), after reports a cyclist had been hit.

The man died at the scene. He has not been formally identified.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command have established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.

The vehicle failed to stop after the incident and police are appealing for public assistance to locate it and the driver.

The car is described as being a white or grey sedan. It was being driven by a woman of Asian appearance believed to be aged in her 30s.
