Police investigate Frankston incidents

Police are investigating a series of incidents which occurred in Frankston this morning.

Officers were called to a shopping complex on Cranbourne Road, Frankston about 2am.

Investigators believe four male offenders reversed a Ford Ranger utility through glass doors and attempted to steal an ATM.

They were unsuccessful and drove out of the premises.

It is believed the vehicle used in the ram raid was stolen last night during an aggravated car jacking in the Altona Meadows area.

Detectives believe the same group then attended Humphries Road, Mount Eliza shortly before 4am and confronted a man in his Ford Falcon sedan.

They forced him from his vehicle and drove it and the ute from the scene.

The ute was found burnt out a short time later in Sybil Ave, Frankston South.

It is believed the stolen Ford Falcon was later involved in a single vehicle crash near the intersection of Overton and Benton roads in Seaford shortly after 8.40am.

At this stage, no arrests have been made.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who might have seen something, or has information relating to the identity of the offenders, to come forward.

Police are also seeking any dash cam footage which might have captured any of these vehicles of interest.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
