Police investigate home invasion in Merrylands

Police are investigating a home invasion and assault in Merrylands overnight.

About 11.20pm (Tuesday 15 January 2019), police have been told three people forced entry to a house on Warwick Road, Merrylands.

The two male occupants were threatened, and one was assaulted, before the trio fled the scene on foot.

A 30-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Police are treating this as a targeted attack.

Investigations continue.
