Police investigate house fire in Carnegie

Police are investigating a house fire in Carnegie this morning.

Emergency services were called to the property on Koornang Road to reports of a large amount of smoke about 3am.

No one was home at the time, however the property sustained significant damages.

Residents nearby were temporarily evacuated with concerns the fire may have spread.

The road between Neerim Road and Munroe Avenue was closed off for several hours.

The exact cause of the blaze is yet to be determined but police are treating the fire as suspicious.
