Arson Squad detectives are investigating following a house fire in Werribee this morning.
Investigators have been told the fire started in the Mantello Drive property just after 1am.
Four people, believed to be children, are unaccounted for.
A man, a woman, and an 8-year-old boy were able to escape the fire.
The man has been taken to hospital with smoke-related serious injuries.
The woman is in hospital, being treated for smoke inhalation.
The boy has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
