Police investigate Lysterfield burglary

Police are appealing for public assistance after a burglary earlier this week at the Lysterfield home of a man recovering from open heart surgery, Victoria Police say.

It’s believed offenders entered the property on Harry Nance Close sometime between 11pm on Monday, 27 March and 7am on Tuesday 28 March.

Four residents, two males and two females, were asleep at the time.

The offenders took personal property and keys to a vehicle before leaving.

No one in the property was physically injured during the incident.

One of the residents, a man aged in his 70s, was at home after recently undergoing open heart surgery.

Detectives from Knox Crime Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

They are also still searching for the stolen vehicle, a silver 2014 Holden Commodore wagon with registration AMZ 406.

Investigators have also released an image of the vehicle after it was sighted at a service station in Hallam yesterday morning.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
