Police are investigating the death of a woman in Maryborough this morning, Victoria Police say.
Emergency services were called to an Alma Street address about 3.45am, where a woman was located with serious injuries.
She was treated by paramedics at the scene but died shortly after.
The woman is yet to be formally identified.
A male offender, believed to be known to the woman, fled the scene before police arrived.
Homicide Squad detectives are en route.
No arrests have been made at this stage and the investigation is ongoing.
