Police are investigating following a theft at a store in Melbourne Central last month, Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told a man attended a food store about 7pm on Wednesday 15 February and picked up a black backpack containing a laptop.
The man then discarded the backpack at a nearby car park and kept the laptop.
Detectives have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 30s, tall, with a slim build.
At the time of the incident he was wearing a black jacket, white T-shirt, black shorts, white shoes and a black cap with a white logo.
