Police Investigate Mentone Tobacco Shop Fire

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a suspicious tobacco shop fire in Mentone last night.

Emergency services were called to business on Como Parade West after reports a car had crashed into a business on Friday 7 November about 10.50pm.

A flammable liquid was set alight inside the premises before the unknown offenders drove off in a white Toyota Prado.

The Toyota was seen fleeing the scene in convoy with a red sedan.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze and fortunately no one was injured.

Detectives have released CCTV of the two vehicles they believe will assist them with their enquiries.
