Police are investigating an aggravated burglary at an address in Morwell this morning which has left an elderly female with facial injuries (14 September), Victoria Police say.
It is believed a male entered the house on Princes Drive through an open door about 6.30am.
The 83-year-old female occupant who was home at the time, was assaulted by the intruder and has sustained injuries to her face and hands.
The intruder had his face covered, including a mask that covered his eyes and was wearing gloves.
He demanded cash and the victim told him the location of her handbag.
The victim ran to a neighbouring address and contacted police.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
