Police investigate multiple thefts across Melbourne

Police have arrested a number of youths and are continuing to investigate a number of thefts of electronics from stores across the city.

Detectives from Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit, with the assistance of Brimbank and other CIUs, are investigating a number of thefts which occurred between 22 August and 1 September.

It is alleged high quality electrical goods were stolen from stores in Airport West, Sunshine, Brunswick, Hoppers Crossing, Maribyrnong, Brighton, Epping, Thomastown, Pakenham and Nunawading.

On Sunday 1 September police arrested 11 people in Malcolm Court, Kealba.

Six of those arrested were charged and bailed or remanded. They were:

• A 17-year-old boy from Melton West faced a Children's Court and was bailed

• A 17-year-old boy from Derrimut was remanded

• A 16-year-old boy from Melton South was remanded

• A 16-year-old boy from Deer Park faced a Children's Court and was bailed

• A 16-year-old boy from Derrimut faced a Children's Court and was bailed

• A 14-year-old boy from Deer Park was remanded.

The other five people were released pending further enquires.

Police have also recovered a large amount of allegedly stolen goods including mobile phones, tablets and computers.
