Police investigate Parkmore deceptions

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a theft and subsequent deceptions that occurred last month.

Investigators have been told a wallet was stolen from a vehicle which was parked in Santa Barbara Drive in Frankston sometime between 2pm on 25 June and 11am on 26 June.

The wallet contained a credit card, which was subsequently used in the early hours of 28 June to withdraw cash at a bank in Springvale.

A man then attempted to use the same card later that day at a bank at a shopping centre in Parkmore about 1pm.

Bank staff was suspicious of the man and seized the card before the man ran from the bank.

Police have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived as Caucasian in appearance, with a distinctive haircut and tattoos behind his left ear and also on both legs.

Anyone who recognises the man is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
