Police investigate petrol theft at Moorabbin

Monash Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after petrol was stolen from a service station at Moorabbin last month, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told a 2018 black Audi sedan with stolen registration plates, attended a service station on Chesterville Road about 5am on Monday 24 September.

It is believed the male driver filled the vehicle up with petrol whilst his female passenger purchased cigarettes.

They then drove away without paying for the petrol.

Investigators have released images of a woman that they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

She is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged 25 with purple hair tied in a bun and a slim build.

She was wearing a black headband, black hooded jacket and leggings.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
