Police investigate Portsea assault

Police are investigating following an assault at a Portsea hotel earlier this year, Victoria Police say.

It is believed the victim, a 23-year-old man, was at a hotel on Point Nepean Road on Sunday 12 June about 8.30pm when he was ejected from the premises by security staff.

In front of the hotel an altercation has broken out between the victim and four security staff members.

The victim has then been struck to the face and knocked unconscious, falling onto the road.

He later attended hospital with serious injuries.

Police are keen to speak to two witnesses, a man and a woman, who they believe may have filmed the assault.

Investigators have interviewed a 27-year-old Frankston man who has been released pending further enquiries.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
