Police Investigate Preston Collision

Greensborough Highway Patrol officers are investigating following a collision in Preston this morning.

It is believed the allegedly stolen Toyota went through a red light and collided with another vehicle at the intersection of High Street and Bell Street on 1 August about 2.55am.

The Toyota subsequently hit a power pole.

The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota allegedly fled the scene but was located by officers nearby shortly after.

The 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be interviewed at a later stage.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
