Police investigate robbery and assault in Sunshine

Transit Police are investigating an assault and theft which occurred in Sunshine last month.

Investigators have been told two boys, aged 14 and 17 years old, arrived on a train and were waiting at Sunshine Railway Station about 4pm on 23 April.

The pair were approached by a male who made demands for their mobile phones.

He then assaulted the pair before stealing their phones and fleeing on foot.

The victims sustained minor injuries.

The offender is perceived to be Maori or Pacific Islander in appearance, aged in his 30s and described as approximately 175cm tall with an olive complexion, solid build and short dark hair.

He was wearing a white singlet, grey Volcom jumper, black and dark grey tracksuit pants with black and white shoes.

Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in relation to this incident.
