Police investigate robbery at Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have released a CCTV image of a woman they wish to speak to in relation to an assault and robbery in Alice Springs earlier this month.

Around 5:45pm on Thursday March 21 a woman was pushing a trolley to her vehicle in an underground carpark on Bath Street when she was approached by a woman asking for money.

The woman told the female to leave her alone when it is alleged the female grabbed a bottle of alcohol from the woman's trolley and a short struggle took place, resulting in the woman being assaulted and the female running off with the bottle of alcohol.

Police have released an image from CCTV of the woman who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries in relation to the incident.

The woman is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, aged in her late 30s to early 40s, overweight and wearing a black beanie, a khaki coloured top and black shorts at the time of the incident.

Police urge anyone with information in relation to the incident to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote PROMIS number 8916238.
