Police investigate robbery at Queen Victoria Market

Police are investigating an assault and robbery which occurred in Melbourne's Queen Victoria Market on 3 March.

Investigators have been told a 26-year-old man was walking through the closed market at 1.14am when he was approached by a group of five male youths.

One youth kicked the victim and threatened to produce a weapon while demanding he hand over his mobile phone.

The victim handed over his phone and the group of youths ran away from the area.

The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.

The youths are perceived to be aged in their mid-teens.

Detectives have released images of the males who they believe will be able to assist with their enquiries.
