Police investigate robbery at South Brisbane

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a man in South Brisbane last night.

Just before 11pm, the man was under the William Jolly Bridge when he was approached by a woman on a bicycle.

The woman shone a torch in the man's face while she demanded money.

When the man refused, a struggle ensued which resulted in the man receiving a wound to arm. She then rode off with the man's bag.

The 54-year-old Spring Hill man was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for treatment to his arm.

Police patrolled the area for a woman described as having tattoos on her shoulders and riding a black bicycle, but she has not been located.

Investigations into the matter are continuing.
