Police investigate Rocherlea wounding, TAS

Launceston CIB is investigating a wounding incident in Rocherlea last night in which a 24 year old man was stabbed in the neck, Tasmania Police say.

 

Police attended Huon Court, Rocherlea, about 8pm last night in response to a Triple Zero call claiming that there had been a wounding at a residence in that street.

A number of police vehicles responded including Detectives from Launceston CIB and Forensics Services.

Investigations so far have revealed that a 24 year old man was stabbed and received a puncture wound to the left side of his neck and a laceration to the his thumb.

The man was conveyed to the Launceston General Hospital by ambulance, however his injuries are not life threatening.

A 49 year old man was also assaulted during the incident. He received cuts to his nose and right hand and bruising to his eye and elbow. He was treated at the scene.

Numerous enquiries and investigations have been conducted at the scene last night.

Police are seeking two suspects in relation to this matter – a 26 year old woman and a 31 year old man who have not been taken into custody at this time.

The parties involved in this matter are known to each other. It would appear at this time that this was a targeted attack.
