Police investigate series of deceptions in Melbourne's south

Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for assistance to identify a man following a string of deceptions in Melbourne's south.

Investigators have been told a wallet was stolen from a hotel on Commercial Road, South Yarra on 29 December last year.

The wallet contained a credit card, which was subsequently used in the early hours of 30 December to make a series of purchases throughout Armadale, Prahran, South Yarra and Richmond.

Items purchased included alcohol, food and taxi fares.

Investigators have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived as Caucasian in appearance and aged in his mid to late 20s with a slim build and brown hair.

The man was wearing a light pink shirt and black pants, as well as a watch and bracelet on his left wrist.

Anyone who recognises the man is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
