Police investigate serious assault at Maryborough

Detectives are speaking with a man following a serious assault that occurred in Maryborough overnight, November 24.

Initial investigations indicate around 10pm an argument commenced between two men outside a license premises on Ferry Street.

A 20-year-old Tinana man allegedly stuck a 51-year-old Maryborough man in the head causing him to fall and hit his head on the pavement.

The 51-year-old man was transported to hospital in serious condition.

The other man left the area and was located by police, shortly after.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has vision to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
