Police investigate serious assault at Ayr

Police are investigating a serious assault incident in Ayr last night, November 12.

Around 8.30pm, a man entered a fast-food restaurant along Edwards Street and threatened staff with a knife, making demands for money.

He left the scene empty-handed towards Graham Street and Edwards Street where he was arrested by police.

Two staff, including a 17-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man, received non-life-threatening injuries, and were not transported to hospital.

Investigations are continuing.
