Police investigate serious assault at Karumba

Police are investigating an incident at Karumba overnight which has left one man with serious injuries.

Early information suggests that at around 11.40 pm yesterday a 33-year-old man sustained a serious chest wound in a Norman Street home.

A 43-year-old man is assisting police with their inquiries.

The men are known to each other.

The injured man was transported to Mount Isa hospital and then transferred to Townsville Hospital for treatment.
