Police investigate stolen vehicle, pursuit, fail to pay offences - Young at Albury

Police are investigating a number of offences relating to a stolen vehicle across the Young and Albury areas.

Between 12am and 3am on Monday (15 July 2019) a white Toyota Corolla sedan was stolen from a residential premises in Young.

About 7.20am, police received reports of a fail to pay at a service station in Holbrook by a male driving a white Toyota Corolla sedan.

About 7.45am, a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle was detected travelling south on the Hume Highway, a short distance north of Albury.

Officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol engaged in a pursuit, which was terminated shortly after for safety reasons.

Police inquiries have identified a 17-year-old male who was allegedly driving the car at the time of the fail to pay at Holbrook.

The male is wanted by virtue of an outstanding warrant for an offence committed in the Young area prior to the vehicle being stolen, as well as the alleged offences of illegally using a conveyance, engage in police pursuit and the fail to pay.

Police inquiries to locate the male are continuing and a number of offences remain under investigation.
