Police are appealing for the public's assistance following a number of fires in Sydney's west in October.
About 1:30am Thursday 23 October 2025, emergency services were called to a fire trail in Smeeton Road, Londonderry, following reports of a grass fire.
A short time later, witnesses reported hearing small explosions and observed further fires in the area.
Police will allege at least ten fires were started.
About 2am, NSW Rural Fire Service crews attended and extinguished the blazes.
No reports of injuries were received and there were no reports of damage to vehicles or property.
Officers attached to Hawkesbury Police Area Command commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police are appealing for information or dash cam footage of a silver sedan allegedly seen in the Smeeton Fire Trail area between 1am-2am on Thursday 23 October 2025.
