Police investigate suspicious loiter in Daylesford

Police are appealing for public help after receiving a report an unknown man approached two children and offered them a lift in Daylesford yesterday afternoon (19 July), Victoria Police say.

It is believed the children were walking along Stanbridge and Duke streets when the man stopped his car and spoke to them just after 3.30pm.

The man offered the children a lift however the children kept walking.

The unknown man then drove off in an unknown direction.

Police patrolled the area but were unable to locate the man described.

Investigators have made contact with a local school and will continue to patrol the area today.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and in particular would like to obtain any CCTV or dash-cam footage from the local area.

The unknown man was driving an orange Ford sedan which has been described to police as an "older model".

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
