Police investigate taxi driver assault, SA

Police from the Public Transport Safety Branch who are investigating the assault of a taxi driver today released images of a man they would like to speak with regarding the matter, according to SA Police.

About 11.30pm on Thursday 12 May a driver picked up a passenger out the front of a hotel on Port Rd at Brompton who asked to go to Modbury Heights.

In the region of North East Rd at Collinswood, after allegedly pouring a drink over the dashboard of the taxi, the passenger struck the driver before causing more damage by kicking the inside of the vehicle.

Police keen to identify this man

The man was described as being aged about 25, about 167cm tall (5ft5), with a medium build and short dark hair. He had slight stubble on his face and was wearing blue jeans and blue top with ‘Iron Maiden’ artwork on it.

The man ran away from the taxi and was last seen running north on North East Rd. The driver did not suffer any serious injuries during the incident.
