Detectives from the Arson and Explosives Squad are investigating following a house fire in West Footscray last night, Victoria Police say.
It is believed the fire started in the Barkly Street premises just after 7.15pm.
A 52-year-old female occupant was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police are yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the fire.
